Lorence & Laurel

Lorence and Laurel, or also known by their pairing name Loraurel, are original characters created in 2010 by myself and an old friend.Throughout the years, they’ve been through many different AU’s and thus have many different iterations of themselves, though currently I've been fixating on Sacrosancta Ecclesia (A Catholic AU) and the Wych Fables (A Fairytale AU).Both have grown with me for more than half my life—through thick and thin—so they mean the world to me.

Laurel Rose

Laurel’s personality and appearance go through various minute changes throughout the different AU’s but his consistent points are his white-blonde hair, sharp honey-gold eyes, and his cold temperament.He’s not a very good person and in some AU’s he would be considered the antagonist or even the villain. But Laurel himself is very aware of his own wickedness and it is often a point of insecurity for him. One of the reasons why he is drawn to Lorence is because of his natural charisma and compassion for others. Something that he himself lacks. In some AU’s, Laurel tries to be a better person, and in others he does not.Laurel was originally a de-aged version of another character of mine named Aurel for a Kuroshitsuji parody RP. But then he ran off and became a completely different character in his own right! His name originates from the evolution of our nickname for him: Little Aurel to Lil Aurel to eventually just Laurel. He is my dearest son (that I love to hate on.)

Lorence Pelagio

Lorence, sometimes also called Lorenzo, was created by my old friend and longtime RP partner, lovfantasy. Like Laurel, he was originally the genderbend of another character of hers named Lorelei for a Kuroshitsuji parody RP, but became his own character. Lorelei and Lorence are now siblings!Lorence, also, has many different designs and slightly different personality quirks between the different AU’s, but his consistent points are his chestnut brown hair, emerald-green eyes, cheeky personality, and his tender heart. He is loyal to a fault to those he cherishes. He is often a foil to Laurel's wickedness, but he too can fall down the wrong path, especially when it comes to his loved ones.Random fun fact, but Lorence's name is a derivative of "Laurence" which is also a derivative of the name Laurentius meaning "the one crowned by a laurel wreath." This was purely by coincidence! Anyways, Lorence is my favorite son-in-law. I love him dearly.

Relationship

A lot of times I like to portray them as foils to one another. Opposites in almost everything, yet finding commonality in unexpected ways. They make up for each other’s flaws but also aggravate them. Loraurel simultaneously bringing out the best and worst in each other.While most of the time their relationship is romantic, there are rare occasions when it is purely sexual or even just platonic. However, regardless of the circumstances, Lorence and Laurel are always mutually attracted to each other like moths to a flame. Don't expect their relationship to be healthy, although we do have lighter, more wholesome stories too!There's a tweet I once came across and I think it sums up the flavor I like to explore in these two: (1) "You were never good for me, but I loved you more than anything." and (2) "You were the best thing that ever happened to me, and I destroyed that with my own hands (possibly on purpose)."Side note, but they're a switch couple.

One day, he comes across a young Einhorn noble who fell asleep in the back of his cart. Despite their differences, the two begin travelling together.Loosely based on the DeviantArt RP group, Voleros Saga.

【 THE ROSENHEIM ESTATE 】Laurent Ellis Rosenheim is the young heir to the title of Marquis of Rose and Lorence Pelagio is his butler. Due to a string of events and contention over the family inheritance after the death of the current Marquis, the two of them are forced to flee to Lorence's home country. From there, they plot to reclaim Laurel's inheritance by birthright.The original AU from whence Loraurel were born.

Unfortunately for him, this ship belonged to smugglers.When he is cast into the ocean, he is saved by the merman Lorence who hides the human boy in an underwater cave, away from his hungry siren sisters. At first, Laurel is resentful of the merman for his involuntary confinement, but slowly the two grow closer.However, within a year, a vessel passes by and Laurel returns to human society. Lorence, who is left behind, becomes restless and lovesick. The merman eventually seeks the sea witch with whom he strikes a deal. He would become human at the expense of his voice and within the year, Laurel must fall in love with him lest he would return to sea foam.And so, Lorence is able to return to his beloved little human's side...

【 LADY AND THE TRAMP AU 】The story of a mongrel who becomes smitten with a kitten. Lorence the stray dog attempts to convince the pampered house cat, Laurel, to leave behind his domestic life. A short story inspired by the vocaloid song 「Ah, It's a Wonderful Cat Life」 and the Disney movie, Lady and the Tramp.

【 OMEGAVERSE AU 】As an alpha that only likes to tussle with other alphas, Lorence is considered a sexual aberrant.
